The EastPole Greenland Nanook Bone Edge Glow Paddle 2 Piece is based on the shape and size of a traditional west-greenland paddle. It has mild “shoulders” on transition from loom (shaft) to the blades. Blade tips are round and as wide as the blade. EastPolePaddles’ standard material is Western Red Cedar (Thuja plicata) – a lightweight and beautiful wood, which generally does not rot. Pine strips on the loom is EastPolePaddles’ “trade-mark” which adds stiffness to their paddles. As a finish, they oil the paddles with tungoil. Wooden paddle treated with oil feels very natural and warm in your hands. Good grip is guaranteed, even when the paddle is wet, less chance of blisters and easier to maintain.

BONE EDGE looks like a real bone and is almost as strong as bone. It is a special mixture of epoxy and makes the blades more resistant to wear and damage.

GLOW absorbs radiant energy from sunlight ( or artificial lighting ) and converts it into longer wavelengths in the visible spectrum, thereby emitting it as light with the sensation of colours. Glow pigments will release light for up to 5-6 hours in darkness, and “charges up” in 20-30 minutes.

NEW SPLIT SYSTEM is oval carbon reinforced plastic paddle joint for greenland paddles made by Kayak Sport. The ferrule is as short as possible to maintain more natural wooden paddle´s characteristics. Easy to use and maintain. Just push the button and you can split your paddle in 2 same size pieces
